WE'RE HUGGERS

Chances are if you've eaten at Gelsosomo’s (Jel-sah-so-mos) in Lemont you’ve met us (or at least one of us), we’re Peg and Ed Gricus. If not, perhaps you’ve visited with Jen or Heather (our daughters) or had a pizza delivered by our son Tim. Did you catch our granddaughters running through the restaurant, eating candy? No doubt about it, this is a family restaurant.

Each member of our family lives in Lemont, and each of us is dedicated to making Gelsosomo’s a success. Providing delicious food, excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter or order (from the youngest to the most mature) is our top priority. IN THE BEGINNING

Born into an Italian family in Roseland, a South Chicago Italian neighborhood, Tom Gelsosomo has always loved great Italian food. As an aspiring young entrepreneur who had worked hard in restaurants in the late 1970’s, Tom wanted to share his love for Italian food with people through his Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria restaurant concept. Tom decided to open his first restaurant in Portage, Indiana in 1979.

Over the past 35 years nine franchises have opened their doors—bringing time-tested recipes to Cedar Lake, Chesterton, Crown Point, Highland, Michigan City, Schereville and Valparaiso, Indiana, St. Joseph, Michigan, and in September the first Illinois franchise opened here in Lemont.


PART OF THE COMMUNITY

Living and working in this amazing town is certainly a blessing. We recognize how hard each person, family, school, church, business and organization works to improve this community and provide services for neighbors. Supporting these efforts is important to us, and we do our best to lend a hand when we can.

Since our opening in September 2014 we have contributed funds, food or service to more than 20 organizations.
